General Description:
Each of the Chianti Classico areas have their own unique terroir of the vineyards and are situated approx. 400 metres above sea level. The soil is rich in clay-limestone structure with a good presence of siliceous skeleton. The low production yields combined with good exposure, ventilation and low evening temperatures promote healthy maturation of the bunch. The grapes are harvested manually and transported to the winery in small boxes.
Colour: Intense ruby red, tending to garnet.
Bouquet: Pleasant, intensely varietal, hints of purple.
Taste: Harmonious, with an aftertaste of fruit and ripe plum, fruity, slightly tannic which is refined over time.
Alcohol: 14% vol
Serving Temperature: 18deg C
Shelf Life: 7 years and over
Bottle: 750ml Bordeaux
Food Pairing: Red and white meat, such as rabbit cacciatore, roast guinea fowl with herbs or a stew of beef Tuscanny. Game dishes such as stew or saddle of venison.
